Nashua Education Foundation, is as timely as it is welcome

NASHUA – It isn’t every day that a group of people show up before the Nashua Board of Education and say they want to give money to the school district – usually, it’s the other way around.
But that’s what happened earlier this week, when representatives of the newly established Nashua Education Foundation made their initial presentation to the board and shared its mission statement: “To raise and provide resources for the enhancement of educational opportunities for Nashua public school students.”
The key word in that statement is “enhancement,” since money would only be made available for new programs or initiatives, not to cover current expenses or to plug deficits.
